Basketball Recap: Northside Baptist Christian Takes a Loss

Northside Baptist Christian lost against Shawnee back in November of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Northside Baptist Christian Lions received a blow as they fell 49-35 to the Shawnee Redskins. The Lions' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shawnee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emma Young, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 boards. Young's evening made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Eva Ford, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Northside Baptist Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Shawnee, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Northside Baptist Christian will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Joppa-Maple Grove at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. As for Shawnee, they will challenge Century at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Shawnee is facing Century at the right time seeing as Century is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
