Tyngsborough came out on top against Lunenburg on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Tigers blew past the Blue Knights 8-2. Considering the Tigers have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Kiley Hogan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run.
In other batting news, Sydney Haslam was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Katie O'Keefe, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Tyngsborough pushed their record up to 13-1-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Lunenburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Coming up, Tyngsborough will welcome Bedford at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lunenburg, they will head out to face off against Clinton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
