Football Recap: Mapleton Comes Up Short

Mapleton extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-7. They were beaten by the St. Paul Flyers 50-6. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

As for St. Paul, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4. The result was nothing new for the Flyers, who have now won four contests by 38 points or more so far this season.

St. Paul's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Landon Fries, who rushed for 87 yards and a pair of TDs on only five carries, and also picked up 63 receiving yards and one score. Fries also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Flyers are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise. Nicholas Pocos was another key rusher, rushing for 84 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries.
