Basketball Game Preview: Prairie Hawks vs. Mt. Vernon Mustangs

The Prairie Hawks will square off against the Mt. Vernon Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Prairie is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Tuesday. They walked away with a 49-41 victory over Pleasant Valley.

Meanwhile, Mt. Vernon had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Kennedy on Tuesday, sneaking past 58-56. The Mustangs are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 26 straight dating back to last season.

Prairie was able to grind out a solid win over Mt. Vernon in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 66-54. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
