Volleyball Recap: Lackawanna Trail Takes a Loss

Lackawanna Trail lost against Western Wayne two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Lions came up short against the Wildcats, falling 3-0. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Western Wayne scored at least 20 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-23, 25-20.

Lackawanna Trail's offense was headlined by Wyatt Laytos and Brandon Kalinoski, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Rylee Laubach and his 13 assists. Brayden Jones controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Lackawanna Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Western Wayne, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Lackawanna Trail wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Berwick on the 28th. As for Western Wayne, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Blue Ridge on the 29th.
