Volleyball Recap: Pewaukee Pirates vs. Union Grove Broncos
Pewaukee saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Union Grove Broncos.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-21.
Sawyer Hake paced Pewaukee's offense, picking up seven kills. Hake got some help from Ethan Dalangin and his 21 assists. Dalangin was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.
Several Broncos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Asher Gonzales, who had ten digs and two aces.
The victory got Pewaukee back to even at 5-5. As for Union Grove, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pewaukee is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Mukwonago at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
