Preview: Bryan County Redskins vs. Screven County Gamecocks

The Bryan County Redskins will head out on the road to face off against the Screven County Gamecocks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Bryan County scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Claxton, posting a 71-28 win at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Bryan County has managed all season.

Bryan County can attribute much of their success to Kayley Wedlow, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Jasmine Mikell, who scored 19 points along with four steals. Mikell is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ashanti Brown, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Screven County entered their tilt with Emanuel County Institute with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Screven County breezed by Emanuel County Institute on the road to the tune of 65-30. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Screven County had established a 28 point advantage.

Bryan County pushed their record up to 16-3 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Screven County, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.

Everything came up roses for Bryan County against Screven County when the teams last played on January 5th as the squad secured a 57-22 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bryan County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
