Soccer Recap: Yuma Triumphs

Yuma was handed a three-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Yuma also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2025.

Sarah Williford and Brizzia Anleu scored all three of Yuma's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Yuma's victory bumped their record up to 3-8-2. As for Desert Sunrise, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Yuma is set to take on their familiar foe Tempe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Desert Sunrise will square off against rival Cortez at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
