Volleyball Recap: St. Ursula Academy's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to 11

St. Ursula Academy had already won ten in a row dating back to last season and they went ahead and made it 11 on Thursday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Bishop Fenwick Falcons. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

St. Ursula Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-31, 17-25, 25-21, 25-20, 15-9.

Their offense was headlined by Lucy Waleskowski and Gabby Semona, who picked up 16 kills apiece. Waleskowski really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 41. Emma Frietch controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

St. Ursula Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Bishop Fenwick, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Ursula Academy will head out to square off against Gilmour Academy at 11:00 a.m. on the 30th. As for Bishop Fenwick, they will venture away from home to face off against Badin at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
