Football Game Preview: Glass Hilltoppers vs. Amherst County Lancers + How To Watch

The Glass Hilltoppers will face off against the Amherst County Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Glass' offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Jefferson Forest on Friday. They had to suffer through a 56-0 loss at the hands of the Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, the Hilltoppers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 22nd).

Meanwhile, Amherst County played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Heritage 49-14. The defeat continues a trend for the Lancers in their meetings with the Pioneers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Amherst County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Dasan Hall, Jamerson Daniel, and Chris Reed picked up one apiece. Daniel got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Glass' loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Amherst County, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-5.

Glass ended up a good deal behind Amherst County in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, losing 18-0. Can the Hilltoppers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
