Basketball Recap: MacArthur Takes a Loss

MacArthur lost to Pearce back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cardinals fell 58-50 to the Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 490th, while the Mustangs are ranked 43rd).

MacArthur's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Pearce, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. MacArthur will square off against rival Irving at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pearce is set to challenge their familiar foe Nimitz at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
