They put the hurt on Ridge Spring-Monetta with a sharp 53-30 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Blackville-Hilda has posted since December 13, 2023.
Leading Blackville-Hilda to victory were Breyanna Williams and Eva Sapp. Williams scored 13 points along with six assists and five rebounds, while Sapp scored 19 points along with nine steals and five rebounds. Williams is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Aubreya Johnson, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Ridge Spring-Monetta's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kennedy Ligons, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, and Sariya Geyer who scored no points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Blackville-Hilda's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Williston-Elko the next time they take the court. Ridge Spring-Monetta will host Williston-Elko at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Blackville-Hilda will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
