Softball Recap: O'connor Finds Home Field Redemption Against Casteel

There's no place like home for O'Connor, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Casteel Colts on Wednesday. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 5-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Imani Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had over her last four games.

At the plate, Raegan Holtorf was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

O'Connor is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. Casteel is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Looking ahead, O'Connor will host Xavier College Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Xavier College Prep will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something O'Connor surely won't give up without a fight. As for Casteel, they will take on Chaparral in a tournament on Friday.
