Basketball Recap: Narragansett Takes a Loss

Narragansett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Coventry Oakers. The Mariners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Oakers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

It was another big night for Tyler Broady, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds for Coventry. Broady's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Riley Finegan, who posted ten points and five boards.

Narragansett's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Coventry, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.

Narragansett will look to defend their home court on Friday against North Providence at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in North Providence's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests. As for Coventry, they will head out on the road to square off against South Kingstown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. South Kingstown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.9 points per game this season.
