Soccer Game Preview: Avon Park vs. Hardee

The Avon Park Red Devils will face off against the Hardee Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Avon Park is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Fort Meade on Tuesday. Avon Park fell 4-2 to Fort Meade. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Miners are ranked 150th).

Meanwhile, Hardee came up short against DeSoto County on Tuesday, falling 5-1. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

This is the second loss in a row for Avon Park and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Hardee, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2-1.

Avon Park came up short against Hardee in their previous meeting back in November, falling 2-0. Can Avon Park avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
