Basketball Recap: Martin Comes Up Short

Martin suffered their biggest loss since December 29, 2023 on Tuesday. They came up short against the South Grand Prairie Warriors, falling 58-36. Martin was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced South Grand Prairie earlier this season, when they won 58-53.

Martin's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-13. As for South Grand Prairie, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-12.

Martin and South Grand Prairie should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Martin will take on Sam Houston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 364 places (146 vs. 510). Meanwhile, South Grand Prairie (ranked 72nd) will meet Haltom (ranked 742nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
