Mayville typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Oconto proved too difficult a challenge. They won by a set and slipped past the Cardinals 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Devils sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Oconto had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-17, 15-11.

Braiya Wusterbarth had a dynamite game, getting 21 digs and one assist. That's the most digs she has posted over her last six matches.

Oconto was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Mayville still got an impressive performance from Reagan Hardesty, who had nine assists and six digs.

Oconto's victory bumped their record up to 23-7. As for Mayville, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-11.

Oconto has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Gibraltar on the 14th. As for Mayville, they will square off against St. Mary's Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
