Baseball Game Preview: Henderson County Colonels vs. Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers

The Henderson County Colonels will head out on the road to face off against the Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Henderson County beat Christian County 8-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Henderson County.

Henderson County got a great performance from Maddox Golday as he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Golday has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cooper Vowels, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Hunter Evans, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Breckinridge County posted their closest win since March 27, 2024 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bullitt Central, sneaking past 2-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Fighting Tigers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Hayden Henry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, Breckinridge County's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Adam Howell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

The victory got Breckinridge County back to even at 6-6. As for Henderson County, their record is now 2-7.
