Bishop McDevitt and Palmyra are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Crusaders will be playing at home against the Cougars at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Easton Comp was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Logan Boone was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Palmyra scored first but ultimately less than Manheim Central in their matchup on Friday. They fell 7-2 to the Barons. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Palmyra also got a good showing from Grady Stephens, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Stephens a new career-low.
On the hitting side, Julian Meley made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Bishop McDevitt's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Palmyra, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 12-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bishop McDevitt has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Palmyra struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
