Gilmer County is a perfect 5-0 against Tygarts Valley since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Gilmer County's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Tygarts Valley has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

On Wednesday, Gilmer County didn't have quite enough to beat Doddridge County and fell 8-7.

Layla Smith made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Emeri Hickman, who went 3-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Tygarts Valley scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against Pendleton County, falling 22-6. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly 16 runs.

Tygarts Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Gilmer County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Gilmer County took their win against Tygarts Valley when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 24-3 score. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
