Coventry's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Moses Brown out 1-0. Despite the win, that was the fewest runs Coventry has scored all year.

Meanwhile, Pilgrim faced Cranston West in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. Pilgrim blew past Cranston West 7-1. Pilgrim might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four games by six runs or more this season.

Gretchen Dombeck was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and only one walk). Dombeck has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings every time she's pitched this season. Dombeck was also big at the plate, going 3-for-3 with an RBI.

In other batting news, Skylar Hawes was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Genna D?Amato, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Coventry's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. As for Pilgrim, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Coventry came up short against Pilgrim in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, falling 5-0. Thankfully for Coventry, Alyssa Twomey (who didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched) won't be suiting up this time.
