Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Groveport-Madison walked away with it. They walked away with a 20-13 win over the Lincoln Lions on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Cruisers: when they faced off against the Lions back in August, they had to take a 31-24 loss.

Baker Bowden threw for 46 yards on four of ten attempts. On the ground, Anthony Newell Jr rushed for 57 yards on only six carries.

Groveport-Madison has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.0 points over those games. As for Lincoln, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

Looking ahead, Groveport-Madison will challenge Pickerington Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cruisers will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven contests. Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
