Baseball Recap: Holmes Takes a Loss

Holmes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 12-2 to the Calvary Christian Cougars. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Holmes saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ivan Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Smith is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Holmes' record now sits at 1-3-1. As for Calvary Christian, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holmes will welcome Covington Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Calvary Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Nicholas County at 5:30 p.m.
