Basketball Recap: Goessel Comes Up Short

Goessel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Central Christian Cougars and fell 58-21. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bluebirds have suffered against the Cougars since December 9, 2017.

Goessel's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Central Christian, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goessel and Douglass will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Central Christian, they will head out to square off against Macksville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 65.8 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
