At the Gatorade Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, pro athletes offer advice to young stars.

A group of the nation's top high school athletes convened in Los Angeles on Tuesday night for the 2014 Gatorade Player of the Year ceremony.

It was a big night for boys winner Karl Towns Jr. and girls winner Brianna Turner, but it was also an opportunity for current and former professional athletes to give advice to some of the country's brightest stars.

Take a look at the video below from NFL running back Steven Jackson, former professional soccer player Mia Hamm, Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal, Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy and USA soccer star Omar Gonzalez who talk about the prestigious event, their high school days and what words of encouragement they can give to young athletes.
