Montezuma-Cortez's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 41-12 victory over the Bayfield Wolverines. Considering the Panthers' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Montezuma-Cortez's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Parker Conrad, who rushed for 146 yards and two scores, and also picked up 85 receiving yards and one TD. That's the most rushing touchdowns Conrad has posted since back in August. Rusty Snyder was another key player, gaining 125 total yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Montezuma-Cortez was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 239 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Montezuma-Cortez now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Bayfield, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
