Volleyball Recap: Raleigh Charter's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Raleigh Charter's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Triangle Math & Science Tigers 3-0. The victory was some much needed relief for the Phoenix as it spelled an end to their seven-match losing streak.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-16, 25-12.

Raleigh Charter was led to victory by Devyn Bucholz and Kaylin Sheng. Bucholz had 11 digs and three aces, while Sheng had eight digs and four aces. Bucholz is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Shelby Payne, who had 14 assists and three aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Raleigh Charter was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September.

Raleigh Charter picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-14. As for Triangle Math & Science, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Coincidentally, Raleigh Charter and Triangle Math & Science will both be playing Franklin Academy the next time they take the court. The Tigers will head out to face the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Phoenix will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
