NCISAA Colonial Carolina (8 Man) recap Oct. 23, 2012

Southampton Academy extended the longest winning streak in NCISAA Colonial Carolina (8 Man) this week by beating Lawrence Academy, 60-7. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Raiders.

Word of God Christian Academy took down Northeast Academy 64-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jason Fields threw for 138 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 100 yards in the win.

Shaquille Evans was the best wideout in the league this week as the Rams topped the Eagles. Evans racked up three receptions for 108 yards. Zachary Jackson helped Word of God Christian Academy's passing attack out by catching one ball for 30 yards.

G Mullins was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 29 carries, he ran for 219 yards as Hobgood Academy bested Northeast Academy. Teammate J Marshall added to the ground attack by rushing for 39 yards.

Arendell Parrott Academy's Andrew Davenport and Nate Staskelunas have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading NCISAA Colonial Carolina (8 Man) in both passing and receiving yards. Davenport has thrown for 1017 yards this season, while Staskelunas, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 34 catches for 766 yards. The Raiders' Mullins leads the league in rushing yards with 2139.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Hobgood Academy and the Patriots. Brandon Lanier's team enters the contest ranked fourth in the state, while Arendell Parrott Academy ranks seventh.

Kevin D Washington's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 64 points on Steven Flythe's team. Fields in the win.
