Softball Recap: Walled Lake Central Takes a Loss

Walled Lake Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 9-0 to the South Lyon East Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, with their most recent defeat being a 4-3 loss back in April.

Walled Lake Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Courtney Bigham, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Walled Lake Central's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for South Lyon East, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-15 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Walled Lake Central is set to square off against their familiar foe Kettering at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, South Lyon East will challenge rival Lakeland at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are on a five-game streak of home wins, the Eagles a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
