Baseball Recap: Huntington Takes Down Anahuac in a Playoff Battle

Huntington had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Anahuac Panthers 10-0 on Monday. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Huntington let Peyton Herrington and Evan Aldava run wild. Herrington went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Aldava went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Alex Havard was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Huntington is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Anahuac, their loss dropped their record down to 11-16-1.

Coming up, Huntington will face off against Onalaska on Thursday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Red Devils surely won't give up without a fight. Anahuac does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
