Port Allen had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Madison Prep Academy on Tuesday. The Pelicans put the hurt on Madison Prep Academy with a sharp 16-0 win. Considering the Pelicans have won 17 games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hunter Bodin was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Dickinson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. He has become a key player for Port Allen: the team is 12-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Kaden Wolf was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Port Allen's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 18-9. As for Madison Prep Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-19.

Port Allen will have a chance to go back-to-back against Madison Prep Academy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
