Navajo Pine takes loss despite strong efforts from Nehemiah McDaniel and Gentry Arthur

Recap: Navajo Pine Warriors vs. Legacy Academy Silverbacks

It was a good run, but the Navajo Pine Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 54-31 walloping at the hands of Legacy Academy. Navajo Pine has struggled against Legacy Academy recently, as their match on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Navajo Pine had strong showings from Gentry Arthur, who scored 15 points, and Nehemiah McDaniel, who scored ten points. That was a full 48.4% of Navajo Pine's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Legacy Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Daniel Tavarez out in front who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tavarez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dallas Baca, who scored seven points along with eight assists and three steals.

Navajo Pine now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Legacy Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Navajo Pine on the road again on Saturday and play against Tse' Yi' Gai at 2:30 p.m. on January 20th. As for Legacy Academy, Legacy Academy and Sandia Prep will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
