Baseball Recap: Green Forest Comes Up Short

Green Forest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They lost 14-4 to the Gentry Pioneers. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 17-7 to the Pioneers when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mason Meador was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Meador, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double.

Green Forest's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Gentry, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

Coming up, Green Forest will head out to challenge Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Gentry, they will square off against Siloam Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in the Pioneers' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while the Panthers have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
