Basketball Recap: Harrison Hoyas vs. Hillgrove Hawks
Harrison lost against Hillgrove on January 9th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Harrison Hoyas fell to the Hillgrove Hawks 64-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (59), the Hoyas still had to take the loss.
Hillgrove found their leader in sophomore Asa Montgomery, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. Montgomery is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryson Jatta, who went 7 of 16 en route to 14 points and five boards.
Harrison's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Hillgrove, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harrison will challenge Osborne at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Harrison is facing Osborne at the right time seeing as Osborne is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Hillgrove, they will square off against Paulding County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hillgrove is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.1 points per game this season.
