Basketball Preview: Adelson vs. Lake Mead Academy Eagles
Adelson and the Eagles are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. Adelson will head out on the road to square off against the Lake Mead Academy Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Adelson has struggled recently with 15 losses in a row, while the Eagles will arrive with five straight victories.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 73-37, which was the final score in Adelson's tilt against the Lions on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Lake Mead Academy put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They breezed by Lincoln County at home to the tune of 82-50. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Lake Mead Academy had established a 22 point advantage.
Adelson dropped their record down to 1-15 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Lake Mead Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
Adelson took a serious blow against the Eagles when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 69-23. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lake Mead Academy's Jasiah Dickerson, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Now that Adelson knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
