Volleyball Recap: Northwestern Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Northwestern waltzed into their match on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Turtle Lake Lakers by a score of 2-0. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

While Northwestern won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-22.

Shelby Hessel paced Northwestern's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hessel got some help from Emma Dahl and her 13 assists. Dahl was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Northwestern's record now sits at 13-5. As for Turtle Lake, their loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10.

Coming up, Northwestern will venture away from home to challenge St. Croix Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Turtle Lake, they will host Prairie Farm at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
