Volleyball Recap: Ruskin Golden Eagles vs. Platte County Pirates
Ruskin had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Platte County Pirates on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-0, 25-1, 25-5.
Kanise Moore paced Ruskin's offense, picking up two kills. Moore got some help from Jordyn Tinsley and her two assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Platte County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carissa Bacon, who hit 100% for ten kills and eight aces and three digs. Those eight aces gave Bacon a new career-high. Gia DeRose was another key player, getting four digs and three aces.
The win made it two in a row for Platte County and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
Ruskin has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Chrisman on the 4th. As for Platte County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Truman on the 4th.
