Softball Recap: Luella Lions vs. Douglass Astros        
        
		
                                                         Luella got themselves on the board against Douglass on Tuesday, but Douglass never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Douglass Astros with a sharp  23-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won three matches by 21  runs or more  so far this season.
  Zaena Harris was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Harris was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 4-for-4 with a  home run, five  RBI, and a  triple. That  home run was  her first of the season.
 In other batting news, Luella got a  massive  performance out of  Kennedy Reliford, who  fired off two  home runs, three  stolen bases, and five  RBI while going 3-for-4. Reliford has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last five times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Khloe Hamilton, who  went 4-for-4 with six  stolen bases, three  runs, and four  RBI.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Luella  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 17  hits. That's the most  hits they've managed all season.
 Luella has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four games,  which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record  this season. As for Douglass, their defeat was  their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 1-4.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Luella will square off against Cedar Grove at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Douglass, they will venture away from home to  take on Mt. Zion  at 5:30  p.m.  on September 5th.
