Basketball Game Preview: Grant Park Dragons vs. Donovan Wildcats

Grant Park has gone 9-1 against Donovan recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Grant Park comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

On Tuesday, Grant Park took a blow against Beecher, falling 52-21.

Despite their defeat, Grant Park saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ian Hamann, who posted five points, was perhaps the best of all. Hamann is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Luis Maldonado also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Meanwhile, Donovan played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 73-42 loss at the hands of St. Anne. The Wildcats were down 60-37 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Grant Park will have to contain Collin Carlson as he made an impact in Donovan's last game. He almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Jayden Mitton, who earned eight points and five rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Donovan fell to 2-1. As for Grant Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything came up roses for Grant Park against Donovan in their previous matchup back in February, as the squad secured a 65-37 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
