Basketball Recap: Chattahoochee Comes Up Short

Chattahoochee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 59-53 heartbreaker at the hands of the W D Mohammed Caliphs. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while the Caliphs are ranked 138th).

Chattahoochee's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for W D Mohammed, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chattahoochee and Milton will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. W D Mohammed will take on Arlington Christian in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. W D Mohammed will be up against Arlington Christian's rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.22 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
