Basketball Recap: Beau Bergfeld's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bandera over Canyon Lake

Bandera was the 38-37 winner over Canyon Lake when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Bandera BULLDOGS lost 62-42 to Canyon Lake on Tuesday. The BULLDOGS have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bandera lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Beau Bergfeld, who went 8-for-14 to rack up 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Salas, who posted 12 points.

Canyon Lake was led to victory by Carter Williams and Jacob Holland. Williams dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Holland went 5-for-9 on his way to 14 points. Williams is becoming a predictor of Canyon Lake's success: when he posts at least ten boards the team is 7-3 (and 8-15 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Dalton Stromquist, who had six points and 12 rebounds.

Bandera's defeat dropped their record down to 20-13. As for Canyon Lake, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-18.

Bandera does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Canyon Lake, they have already played their next contest, a 59-43 loss against Lago Vista on the 18th.
