Football Recap: Brody Conner Leads Houston Academy's Defense on Friday + How To Watch

If Houston Academy was riding high fresh off their 48-7 takedown of Northside Methodist Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders fell just short of the Trinity Presbyterian Wildcats by a score of 17-14 on Friday. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Even if they lost, Houston Academy's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Brody Conner with two.

Trinity Presbyterian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Land Sharpless, who rushed for 58 yards and one score, and also threw for 83 yards and one touchdown. Tillman Clements helped out on the ground, rushing for 134 yards.

The defeat snapped Houston Academy's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-3 record. As for Trinity Presbyterian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

Coming up, Houston Academy will head out on the road to challenge Providence Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Presbyterian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
