Volleyball Recap: Conemaugh Valley Falls Despite Big Games from Kyra Miller and Madison Mccleester + How To Watch

If Conemaugh Valley was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of United last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Jays took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cambria Heights Highlanders on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Jays of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17, 19-25, 25-14.

Conemaugh Valley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Madison Mccleester, who had 30 digs and two assists, and Kyra Miller, who had six digs and six assists. Mccleester is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 15 games she's played dating back to last season.

Cambria Heights' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elena Eckenrode, who had 16 digs and three aces. What's more, Eckenrode posted two assists, the most she's had over her last three matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Nihart, who had 21 assists and three digs.

Conemaugh Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Cambria Heights, their record now sits at 6-9.
