Recap: Field Falcons vs. Washington Tigers

If the Field Falcons were riding high off their 52-16 takedown of the Ravenna Ravens on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Field received a tough blow on Saturday as they fell 67-49 to Washington. While losing is never fun, Field can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 335th, while Washington is ranked 161st).

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Delilah Rahe, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 17 rebounds. Rahe scored a full 44.9% of Field's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ally Harlin, who scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.

La Nia Moore was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds for Washington. Moore is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Makiya Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Field's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Washington, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Field will challenge Streetsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Streetsboro's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Washington, they will head out on the road to face off against Green at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
