Soccer Game Preview: Schuylkill Valley vs. Lancaster Catholic

The Schuylkill Valley Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Lancaster Catholic Crusaders at 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday. Schuylkill Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.5 goals per game this season.

Schuylkill Valley can't be too worried about heading out to take on Lancaster Catholic: they just beat Kutztown at home, who had been dominant on their own pitch up to that point. The Panthers walked away with a 3-1 win over the Cougars on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for Schuylkill Valley in their matchups with Kutztown: they've now won three in a row.

Schuylkill Valley hit Kutztown with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Asher Clery, Sam Weidner, and Milan Kosiba.

Meanwhile, Lancaster Catholic kept a clean sheet against Pequea Valley on Saturday. They came out on top against the Braves by a score of 2-0. Given Lancaster Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Pequea Valley are ranked 243rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lancaster Catholic's win bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Schuylkill Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.

Schuylkill Valley might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from Lancaster Catholic in their previous meeting back in October of 2023. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
