Softball Recap: Block Bears vs. St. Frederick Warriors

Block had lost ten straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 2-16 to make it 11. They came up short against the St. Frederick Warriors, falling 19-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 on March 12th.

As for St. Frederick, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-8. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by ten runs or more this season.

For St. Frederick's part, Camille DeGravelle made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. DeGravelle has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Campbell Wade was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Paige Davis was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Coming up, Block will venture away from home to square off against Vidalia at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Frederick, they will challenge West Monroe at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
