Softball Recap: Tri-Valley Comes Up Short

After flying high against New Lexington on Thursday, Tri-Valley came back down to earth. The Scotties fell just short of the West Muskingum Tornadoes by a score of 7-6 on Friday. The Scotties were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tornadoes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Ashlyn Davis was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Alivia Reffitt was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

Tri-Valley has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season. As for West Muskingum, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-6.

Looking ahead, Tri-Valley will challenge Morgan at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Scotties' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for West Muskingum, they will welcome New Lexington at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
