Football Recap: Center Hill Takes a Loss

Center Hill lost against South Panola back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mustangs came up short against the Tigers, falling 31-7. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Tigers are ranked 18th).

South Panola got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Christon out in front who rushed for 89 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also picked up 37 receiving yards. Tristan Colenberg was another key player, rushing for 35 yards and one score.

Center Hill's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for South Panola, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Center Hill will venture away from home to take on Warren Central at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests. As for South Panola, they will welcome Neshoba Central at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th.
