Softball Recap: East Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

East dropped their record down to 12-7 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Avon Grove Red Devils. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Devils earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

As for Avon Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games.

For Avon Grove's part, not much got past Elle Burns, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep East off the board. Burns has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Elle Morris was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Gabby Beltran, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Coming up, East will head out to face off against Henderson at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on an 18-game losing streak. As for Avon Grove, they will square off against Downingtown West at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Whippets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Red Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
