Basketball Recap: Ben Lail's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Manila over Rich

Manila lost against Rich back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between the Manila Mustangs and the Rich Rebels didn't end well, with the Manila Mustangs falling 56-41. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ben Lail, who posted nine points. What's more, Lail also posted a 50% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brody Byrne, who put up nine points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rich to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ridge Lundgren, who went 7-for-14 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. The game was Lundgren's fifth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Hoffman, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 12 points and six boards.

Manila's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Rich, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.

Manila has already played their next contest, a 51-39 win against Altamont on the 8th. As for Rich, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-47 victory against Tabiona on the 8th.
